Widespread School project workshops

This April, ICUA Zadar ran workshops as part of the Widespread School project, which treats communities as vital educational partners to broaden learning outside school walls.
Overseen by the Administrative Department for European Funds and Administrative Department for Education of the City of Zadar, the project involved four elementary schools:
1. Elementary School Petar Preradović (5th grade)
2. Elementary School Zadarski otoci (6th grade)
3. Elementary School Šimun Kožičić Benje (2nd grade)
4. Elementary School Bartul Kašić (5th grade)
As a partner in the project, the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Zadar hosted a series of workshops led by senior conservator-archaeologist and underwater archaeologist Maja Kaleb, head of Education and Documentation Department. In the inspiring surroundings of the St. Nicholas Education and Presentation Centre, students explored cultural heritage, investigated wind and pressure forces, surveyed marine flora and fauna, and calculated the surface areas of bays and historic wooden vessels.
